6 yr old granddaughter loved these beads and had all kinds of imaginative play ideas which we explored AFTER I showed her their 'real' purpose first. I would suggest a small educational pamphlet for explanation purposes for those who might not know the different and important aspects of this math activity.

I used these in my classroom for several years. They helped with counting and skip counting.
